On December 2, I got together with some other entrepreneurial women here in Nashville for Dream Day. It was so so great!
What is Dream Day?
My friend Jena invited a group of girls over to her apartment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished in 2017 and to set our intentions and goals for 2018.
It was such a wonderful event. We had food and mimosas to start and mingled getting to know one another. Then we got down to business. We started by reflecting on 2017 and wrote out what we did, what we accomplished, struggles and stressors we had, and went around the room sharing some of what we wrote. It was good to reflect back because it can be so easy to always focus on the future and what’s coming next but it’s also super helpful to look back and actually see how far you’ve come.
Then we took time to set our word for 2018. We started by writing out a list of words that resonate with us and then narrowed it down until we had one word that would be our word for 2018. It was so hard for me to choose just one but I decided on the word confident. Confidence in myself and my services/value has always been something I struggle with so maybe having the word front of mind for next year will help me to trust in myself more and be more confident!
Finally, we went outside (it was so nice out) to write down all of our goals and things we would like to do in 2018. We did a major brain dump and I wrote out way more things than I even realized I had in my head for 2018 goals. We then began to narrow down those goals and dreams to choose one goal for each quarter of the year. We then paired off in groups to share our ideas and get another’s perspective and support. It was so great!
I was unable to finish writing out my plan for 2018 because I had to leave for another event but I am excited to get back to it this week and really set my intentions and goals for next year. It was such an inspiring and exciting event and I am so thankful to have met these wonderful ladies in Nashville!
