Hello friends!! I have some exciting news to share with you today. I have been struggling to get into a productive rhythm with my blogging since quitting my full-time job back in October. I am now juggling a LOT of different things and I have not had as much time to focus on the blog. But I am working on putting a plan in motion to be more consistent and I have lots of ideas for upcoming blog posts.
Nutrition Coaching News
The main thing I want to share with you is that I have started my own Nutrition Coaching practice. You’ll now see a link titled “Nutrition Coaching” in the menu bar of this blog or if you’re on mobile, you can find it on the dropdown menu.
My website is JillMerkelRD.com and my business is Nutrition for Endurance: Overall Health and Athletic Performance. My specialities are sports performance nutrition and weight management. I see clients virtually (via phone, email, and video chat) or in person in the Nashville area. So if you are looking for guidance with making some healthy changes this new year, please contact me!
In other news, I am in the midst of half marathon training. Technically, I am on Week 5 of an 8 week training schedule for the upcoming Hot Chocolate 15k in Nashville.
I say “technically” because I was sick last week and missed almost an entire week of training! Ugh, I hate when that happens. But hopefully it didn’t set me back too far.
The Hot Chocolate 15k fell perfect with my Little Rock half marathon training schedule as well.
Both of these upcoming races have pretty awesome medals so I am excited to add some more running bling to my collection!
I have also joined some running groups here in Nashville and I am trying to be more active in the running community.
- Team Beef – Through some RD connections, I was invited to join Team Beef to participate in running races around the Nashville area.
- East Nasty Running Club – This is an awesome group with so many runners! They are promoting fitness and fun. They provide free group runs and I just started with their free half marathon training program to prepare for the Nashville Rock n Roll half marathon in April.
That’s all I have for now! Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!
